Whats Been Going On?

Well, after reviewing several different blogging platforms, I’ve come to the conclusion that WordPress is on top for a reason.  It’s just better in almost every respect.  It is extremely simple to set up, even easier to customize (thanks to the awesome and much appreciated plugin/theme repository).

I hope to create my own theme once again to get things rolling, but in the mean time, this one will do brilliantly.

Content

Most of the content on this blog will be related to my adventures in programming and systems administration, however the occasional artwork may be posted if I deem it worthy (which, sadly, most of my artwork isn’t).  I will be bringing you some interesting snippets relating to SCRAM authentication in the very near future, so stay tuned for that.  The Infected Mushroom background will be making a return as well when I get the chance to restore it from backup.

I will be showcasing some of the interesting features Storm has to offer in the coming weeks as well.  For those of you who are unaware, I am developing a ridiculously modular content management framework built on top of the Zend Framework.  It may make a debut on GitHub in a few months if the timeline is met.

Future

If the site’s traffic picks up again, I may be inclined to upgrade my hosting environment, which would make me pretty excited to continue blogging.  Currently, it’s being hosted on a small VPS setup, but the bandwidth is something of a concern.  I’m a huge fan of MediaTemple, however their Grid Service is slow at times…  Anyone know of other quality companies?
